Behind the library, this long-running market serves farm produce, bakes, preserves, handmade goods and great conversation with the locals.
Gansbaai Christmas Market — 6–23 December, Pretoriussaal
Running daily through the heart of the festive season, the Gansbaai Christmas Market at the Pretoriussaal offers one of the widest selections of local gifts and goodies in the area. Open Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm and Saturdays until 5pm (closed Sundays), this welcoming indoor market is packed with handmade crafts, festive décor, preserves, baked treats, children’s gifts, needlework, woodwork and more.

Hermanus
Hermanus Country Market — Night Markets throughout December (5pm–9pm)
The festive season comes alive under the fairy lights with a series of evening markets (12, 17, 19, 26 and 31 December), each filled with gourmet food, local wine and cider, handmade gifts, vibrant music from resident DJs and the much-loved Elf Hunt for the kids.
Expect sunset views, picnic blankets, artisan treats and a festive spirit that makes Hermanus a December favourite. The atmosphere continues into early January with markets on 2 and 7 January 2026. Don’t forget the regular Saturday morning market, a local institution all year round.



Kleinmond
Kleinmond Christmas Market — 11–24 December, Laerskool Kleinmond Hall
A festive favourite in the heart of the village, the Kleinmond Christmas Market at the Laerskool Kleinmond Hall runs daily from 9am to 6pm, with a special late-night shopping evening on 11 December (6pm–9pm) and shortened hours on Christmas Eve (9am–2pm). Rivergate Christmas Market — 14 December, Rivergate Guest Farm (from 10am)
Set on the lawns of Rivergate Guest Farm, this countryside market features over 80 local artisans with handmade gifts, fashion, pantry treats and décor. Add live music, food stalls and picnic blankets, and you have a perfect summer Sunday.
Stanford Festive Market — 16–21 December, 16 Queen Victoria Street (10am–9pm)
A curated celebration of handmade, locally produced gifts and gourmet foods. Held at 16 Queen Victoria Street, this week-long market forms the glowing heart of Stanford’s festive buzz, with late-night shopping and magical village lights.

Swellendam
Swellendam Christmas Market — 12 December, 8 Voortrek Street (6pm–8pm)
