Bredasdorp Christmas Pop-Up Market — 16 December, Lighthouse Paints (9am–1pm)

Kassiesbaai Vakansie Mark — 13 December, Kassiesbaai (10am–6pm)

Elgin

Elgin Railway Market — Open until Christmas Eve and again over New Year (8.30am – 4pm, 9am on weekends)

Behind the library, this long-running market serves farm produce, bakes, preserves, handmade goods and great conversation with the locals.

Gansbaai Christmas Market — 6–23 December, Pretoriussaal
Running daily through the heart of the festive season, the Gansbaai Christmas Market at the Pretoriussaal offers one of the widest selections of local gifts and goodies in the area. Open Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm and Saturdays until 5pm (closed Sundays), this welcoming indoor market is packed with handmade crafts, festive décor, preserves, baked treats, children’s gifts, needlework, woodwork and more.

Groeneweide Farm Friday Night Market — 19 December, Groeneweide Farm (5pm–9pm)

Christmas Craft & Artisanal Market — 20–21 December, Groeneweide Farm (9am–4pm)
Set on the tranquil grounds of Groeneweide Farm, this two-day artisanal market showcases talented local makers offering handcrafted gifts, décor, treats and festive treasures. With its relaxed country setting, delicious food options and warm community spirit, it’s an ideal spot for finding meaningful, locally made Christmas presents.

Hermanus

Hermanus Country Market — Night Markets throughout December (5pm–9pm)
The festive season comes alive under the fairy lights with a series of evening markets (12, 17, 19, 26 and 31 December), each filled with gourmet food, local wine and cider, handmade gifts, vibrant music from resident DJs and the much-loved Elf Hunt for the kids.

Expect sunset views, picnic blankets, artisan treats and a festive spirit that makes Hermanus a December favourite. The atmosphere continues into early January with markets on 2 and 7 January 2026. Don’t forget the regular Saturday morning market, a local institution all year round.

Kleinmond

Kleinmond Christmas Market — 11–24 December, Laerskool Kleinmond Hall
A festive favourite in the heart of the village, the Kleinmond Christmas Market at the Laerskool Kleinmond Hall runs daily from 9am to 6pm, with a special late-night shopping evening on 11 December (6pm–9pm) and shortened hours on Christmas Eve (9am–2pm). Open on Sundays from 9am–2pm, this vibrant indoor market is filled with handmade gifts, crafts, décor, treats and holiday cheer — perfect for ticking off your Christmas list while supporting local makers.

Napier

Napier Christmas Night Market — 15 December (5pm–9pm)

Onrus

Onrus Christmas Market — 9, 10, 11 & 13 December, De Wet Hall (9am–4pm)

Pearly Beach

Pearly Beach Market — Fishing Club, 9am – 2pm

Stanford

Stanford Sunset Market — 12 & 19 December, Market Square (6pm–8pm)
Music, local wines, food trucks, gift stalls and the switching on of Stanford’s festive lights make this one of the most atmospheric markets of the season. Held on the historic Market Square, with seating, space for the kids and plenty of local flavour.

Rivergate Christmas Market — 14 December, Rivergate Guest Farm (from 10am)
Set on the lawns of Rivergate Guest Farm, this countryside market features over 80 local artisans with handmade gifts, fashion, pantry treats and décor. Add live music, food stalls and picnic blankets, and you have a perfect summer Sunday.

Stanford Festive Market — 16–21 December, 16 Queen Victoria Street (10am–9pm)
A curated celebration of handmade, locally produced gifts and gourmet foods. Held at 16 Queen Victoria Street, this week-long market forms the glowing heart of Stanford’s festive buzz, with late-night shopping and magical village lights.

Weekly Stanford Saturday Markets — Throughout December
Find Saturday morning stalls at the Stanford Hotel stoep and the Village Square for fresh produce, baked goods and small gifts.

Swellendam

Swellendam Christmas Market — 12 December, 8 Voortrek Street (6pm–8pm)
Local artisans, food stalls, live music from the Zolani Youth Choir and a visit from Santa himself bring the town together at 8 Voortrek Street. If you miss it, return on 19 December for a second festive round.

Strandveld

Strandveld Vineyards Festive Market — 19–20 December, Strandveld Vineyards
